Monadnock Firewood LLC

About Monadnock Firewood LLC
Monadnock Firewood LLC serves Rindge and the surrounding Monadnock region with mixed hardwood delivery. If you heat with wood or rely on a fireplace for supplemental warmth, sourcing quality firewood locally cuts down on logistics costs and ensures you get wood suited to New England's climate.
Mixed hardwood cords typically deliver solid heat output—oak ranges from 24–28 million BTU per cord, while hickory reaches 27–30 million BTU per cord. The key to maximizing that energy is moisture content. Firewood should be seasoned to around 20% moisture or lower before burning; green or wet wood wastes heat and builds creosote in your chimney.
When ordering firewood for delivery to Rindge, confirm the cord size (a full cord is 128 cubic feet—4 feet high, 4 feet deep, 8 feet long). Ask about delivery timing and whether the wood is hand-stacked or dropped. Understanding these details prevents miscommunication and ensures the wood arrives ready to use or cure further if needed.
Monadnock Firewood LLC handles delivery logistics so you don't have to source, haul, and stack wood yourself—a practical advantage if you're managing a seasonal heating need or stocking up before winter demand peaks.
For specific pricing, cord sizes available, and delivery scheduling in the Rindge area, contact them directly. They can discuss your heating setup, advise on quantity, and arrange delivery that fits your timeline.

Several weeks later I finally called and left a message. And another call/message. No call back. Now I see on the web site that cordwood is no longer available. Very, very poor customer service. Obviously, I do not recommend. Update (5/30/19): Matt called today to apologize for not having contacted us. Said he had been super busy and just had not had a chance to call. Would fully understand if we got our cordwood from a different supplier. While I appreciate the call, it has now been more than a month since we first talked and I had not received any response from the two messages I left in the interim. Also interesting that his call came on the same day I left negative feedback. Still cannot recommend."
"A long time customer of Monadnock Firewood and it's predecessor, Coll's Firewood, I was very disappointed with their product as delivered in 2015. A third of the first two kiln dried cords I ordered was cut significantly longer than the 16-inch length requested and would not fit my wood stove. I had to individually shorten almost a cord of firewood with a chop saw in order to make it usable, as my complaint to their office person at the time resulted in no solution to my problem. At the time I ordered, they claimed on the website to still be selling debarked firewood; neither my first load of two cords, nor my second load of two cords, were debarked. It was explained to me they had stopped doing that. Even now, in September of 2016, 15 months later, their website's front page still advertises the advantages of their firewood (less mess, less bugs, less ash, dries faster, more btu's per cord) as if it were debarked, but it has been two years since they offered a debarked product. Intentionally or not, their website is very misleading. The website also indicates they offer free delivery within a 20 mile radius; but it also says that my town (Rindge, NH) is a $25 delivery charge. My address, via google maps, is a mere 12.5 miles from Monadnock Firewood's address. I pointed this out to them last year but it did not matter. My original request was for three cords of wood; they could only provide two, so I ordered another two cords later in 2015. To be fair, after I complained that it was their lack of product that forced them to come twice, they refunded the second delivery charge. The second delivery was of wood that was within an inch or two of the ordered length (16 inches). Lastly, the moisture content on the kiln-dried wood sold to me by Monadnock Firewood was high enough that it did not burn well until halfway through the heating season, which of course meant that many of the potential btu's in the wood was wasted. When larger pieces were split, the inner wood was wet to the touch. Clearly they have shortened the time the wood has spent in their kiln in order to save on costs. Perhaps you can avoid this issue by ordered green wood in early spring, but in my opinion, kiln dried wood should be dry enough to be burnable on the day it is delivered. I would not recommend."
"Was sold a cord of seasoned wood. It's not seasoned. Highway robbery 10/10 would not recommend. Thanks for not keeping me warm this winter. Every single piece of wood is not seasoned."
"We have been getting cord wood from this company for years they are prompt friendly and you get quality wood every time we have never gotten a bad batch from this company highly recommend"
"Called several times and left a message on their web page asking for an estimate. Never received a response."
