This is the type of small business that makes the area better to live in! They have deep expertise + can answer any questions you have related to firewood, delivery + pickup, wood stoves, etc. I've been doing business with Treehuggers for 7+ years now. __________________________________ Note for transplanted city slickers (like myself): When your wood is delivered, the force of all that heavy dense wood being dumped is going to split some logs into small pieces of firewood. That's valuable - because you're going to NEED the smaller pieces to get your fires going! The split pieces of firewood don't reduce the amount of wood you receive, of course. Tip: Scoop up and store the smaller pieces all together; that way they'll be convenient to access."
"For the past 30 years we've burned 3+ chords of wood every winter. Getting wood delivered has always been an anxiety provoking and rarely satisfactory transaction - wet, unseasoned, dirty, buggy, moldy and usually a less amount than what was paid for, but no more!!! Treehugger Farms' kiln dried wood came clean, extremely dry, no bugs, no mold and a perfect count!!! It's so lovely compared to what we're used to that we almost don't want to burn it! Also, their prices are very reasonable, especially for what you get. We're looking more forward than ever to keep our winter fire going!"
"Very friendly to deal with. I bought and picked up, a single skid steer scoop of, kiln dried firewood. The price seemed pretty high for the amount that I got. While stacking this in my basement, I found a lot of stray bark, tails and ends that went straight into my kindling tote. The problem is that I didn't buy kindling. Also, the amount of actual wood that I got for $84 was a pretty skimpy. Price and quantity are my only complaints. Oh, make sure you bring cash or check, they upcharge for credit card use!"
"Fantastic firewood! They dropped off 3 cords of kiln-dried today and I can confidently say that I have never burned any wood this dry. The dude dropping off was also very patient with me as I split some of the wood and measured the moisture. They were in the 9%-15% range - that's dry!"
"For the price we paid for their kiln dried firewood, I expected a much better quality of firewood. They advertise, "16 in. is standard cut of wood". There is an awful lot of much shorter pieces along with what I can only describe as scraps; odd pieces, and splinters. I also didn't realize that they had stopped debarking their kiln dried firewood. For $395/cord delivered, I expected all those odd pieces and scraps would be filtered out. Not only does it take much longer to handle all those little pieces, but they burn so quickly that the quality of the overall cord is diminished. I don't think we will be ordering form them again."
