Discount Firewood

About Discount Firewood
Discount Firewood serves the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex with seasoned hardwoods for residential and commercial customers. The operation sources oak, pecan, hickory, mesquite, and other hardwoods—species selected for their heat output and burn characteristics in North Texas fireplaces and outdoor spaces.
Oak delivers 24–28 million BTU per cord, making it a reliable choice for sustained burns, while hickory reaches 27–30 million BTU per cord for those seeking maximum warmth. Pecan and mesquite add regional appeal and distinct smoke profiles valued by restaurants and barbecue enthusiasts. All wood is seasoned to target moisture levels below 20%, which ensures cleaner ignition and reduced creosote buildup in chimneys—a critical safety consideration in the Texas climate.
Discount Firewood offers pickup and delivery across Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, Frisco, Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Addison, Irving, Coppell, and Flower Mound. Beyond standard delivery, the company provides stacking, loading, and shrink-wrapping services—practical add-ons for homeowners without storage experience or restaurants managing bulk orders. The business supplies both individual households and commercial accounts, indicating familiarity with varying order sizes and timelines.
With 24 customer reviews and a 3.3-star rating on file, Discount Firewood reflects real-world feedback. Pricing for seasoned hardwood in the Dallas area typically ranges from $150–250 per cord, depending on wood type and delivery distance. Read all 24 reviews on Google"Poor customer service, high prices, low quality... should have trusted my gut on this one. Missed a delivery with no call or awareness, called back to tell me they didn't charge enough, wood was wood but completely lackluster... different species, extremely rough and massive cuts, just meh. Definitely seek your firewood needs elsewhere. Note on the driver: Kyle was awesome. Professional, timely, just solid. He added his own star."
"Vendor demanded $200 more after delivery because I let the crew move a lightwieght boat at their request to make delivery easier on their crew. Did not pay. Next year, I moved boat myself in prep for delivery. On delivery day, foreman called and stated owner specified the cord of wood was to be stacked on driveway, meaning I would have to move cord of wood 10 feet myself. For ~$675, this felt punitive by owner. I declined."
"Will not use this company again. They did not show during their first delivery schedule time and did not call to say they were running late. Also office did not text or call back to confirm as front office guy said they would when we rescheduled. The reschedule they were also late which caused increase transportation fee since alley was blocked with other workman who were on time for their particular job."
"Overall a good experience. 27 bucks for 15 pieces of wood lives up to the name. They were busy because of the storm coming in but they kept the line moving as quickly as they could. The only negative I have is that the wood seemed freshly cut (still had sap and a lot of moisture), but it works great for an emergency if you, like me, neglected to keep your woodstock up. It should also be noted that I've never bought from them before, so I can't say whether or not that's the "normal" quality of their wood or if they were just out of seasoned wood due to the demand from the coming storm."
"Was so excited to use my fire place now thay it's so cold.... and the $25 bucket deal seemed great for my small apartment, however all the wood is currently unusable due to moisture in the wood... they gave me wet wood that I now have to spend the next several days drying in my oven.... wish they would have warned me about that..."
