Sizzle Sticks

About Sizzle Sticks
Sizzle Sticks supplies mixed hardwood firewood to homeowners and customers throughout West Union and beyond. Whether you need firewood for winter heating, backyard gatherings, or smoking meat, they offer packaged firewood, bulk delivery, kindling, and specialty smoking wood.
Hardwood Quality and Heat Output
Mixed hardwoods like oak and hickory are the standard in Adams County. Oak produces 24–28 million BTU per cord, while hickory runs 27–30 million BTU per cord—both excellent for sustained, hot burns. The key to maximum heat output is moisture content: properly seasoned wood should test at 20% or lower. Wet or green wood wastes energy and creates excessive creosote buildup in your chimney.
Services and Ordering Options
Sizzle Sticks handles the logistics so you don't have to. Packaged firewood works well for smaller needs or stacking in tight spaces. Bulk delivery suits homeowners stocking up for the season—a full cord measures 128 cubic feet and typically costs $150–$300 in this region, depending on wood type and delivery distance. Kindling bundles jump-start fires faster than splitting larger pieces by hand. Their smoking wood option appeals to barbecue enthusiasts looking for consistent flavor.
Service area extends nationwide, making them accessible whether you're in West Union proper or surrounding townships. When ordering, confirm delivery windows and ask about wood moisture guarantees—reputable suppliers stand behind seasoned product.

I called last week and asked that they deliver a cord of wood to my hunting cabin, which they’ve done twice before. I explained that I don’t live there, but I would meet them there, so I needed it to be delivered on a day we agreed upon. They agreed to deliver this afternoon (11/21). I drove the 90 minutes to the cabin, and I even texted them this morning to remind them of the delivery. I was there long before noon and I heard nothing until finally at 4 p.m. I called them. The person said he would check into it and call me back. When he finally called back, he said the driver had forgotten to make the delivery! He did say that he personally would make the delivery, but he couldn’t make it before 5. Despite realizing that this meant that with stacking the wood and driving home that I’d be lucky to make it home by 9 p.m., I agreed, although you can imagine I was not happy. I was just about to get even unhappier. He texted me at 4:40 p.m. and said he could not get the truck started. So, they wasted almost my entire day and quite a bit of gas with no offer of somehow trying to make up for it."
"First time coming here for seasoned wood for our home fireplace and they were super helpful and very gracious! The process was simple, we came and loaded our truck and we’re so grateful! They offered to deliver to us as well. We will definitely be back! Thank you!"
"I have seen drier wood pulled from the river then what they package as kiln dried and air died. The name sizzle is because it's the water boiling it if the wood. I burn wood as a primary heat source, so I know what is dry and not"
"Went here about a month ago and they had baskets of wood but nothing in there concrete bays, I went there for a pickup load of wood so I went inside and asked for two scoops, I was told they are sold out. Really? I bet they had 4 or 5 cords in metal baskets but they said those are all sold. So I left. Figured next time I would call them before I went there. So this time I call them and I'm told that they have wood and come on up. I tell them I'll be there in an hour. I drive 40 minutes there to get a pickup load of wood. I get there and once again they have large metal baskets full of wood and one small amount in one of there concrete bays that was just dropped off that was just cut and was soaking wet. I thought surely they are not giving me wet green wood??? Yep they get the bobcat and try and give me green wet wood!? Really. I stop him and said I'm not taking that green wet wood. I then ask, what about all this wood in these baskets? O those are all sold!? So needless to say I left there again with no wood for a second time! After gettin screwed over twice and wasting my time and gas I will be taking my business elsewhere!"
"We are a retail hardware store. We've been getting our firewood and kindling from them for about 6 years. Is been a pleasure working with Carrie. She is knowledgeable, friendly and always helpful."
