"This was my first year ordering bulk mulch as opposed to bagged. I researched local companies and was leaning towards Melvin, but a recommendation from a knowledgeable source confirmed my decision. Initially I went to the business in person, even though it's an easy over the phone transaction. When I told him what I'm used to buying, bagged no float cypress, he very kindly explained how that product decimates manatee habitat and is unethically sourced. We talked about what I plant (mostly natives) and he helped me pick a mulch that is locally grown, locally harvested and good for pollinators. What a shift in environmental impact! He did not upsell me on a higher priced mulch, which would have been easy because I came in real clueless. Delivery was great, too! I have a very narrow driveway and that's a real big truck. He got the giant pile neatly on my tarps. I ordered the second batch over the phone and that was super simple. I am so happy to have made the switch away from bags, big box, and cypress. I am relieved to have found Melvin Mulch."
"Needed a stone pad to be put down & compacted before my shed arrived. Spoke with Chad on a Friday 4:50 pm while he was traveling to Kentucky. He was able to quote & set up for the following Tuesday. Unbelievable. Angel arrived as promised, did all the work, and finished the compacting the next day. Very impressed with their work, service and integrity.
