"We recently went to pick up two full cords of firewood at Tom’s. We drove in and were told that we would have to load it ourselves or pay an extra fee for someone to help us load it. We incorrectly assumed that he had a front end loader or something else to scoop up the wood and put it in our dump trailer, because the wood was in piles on pallets and not stacked. It sounded like if we wanted them to help us that they would hand load it as well, but not sure if that was true or not. We saw a conveyor belt that was being used to load wood into one of their trucks and when we asked about using that they said it wasn’t available for us to use. We proceeded to hand load it ourselves and we only ended up taking one full cord because they were getting ready to leave for the day to do landscaping work etc. and as we’re in our 70’s we were getting tired after loading the one full cord into our dump trailer. It was also difficult to avoid stepping through the slats of the pallets as well and we didn’t want to injure ourselves so we decided to only purchase one cord. The wood seems to be good and dry but be warned that if you’re going to buy a large quantity you’ll be charged for loading it if you’re picking it up. Tom said the website says there’s an extra fee for them to load it but we haven’t found where it says that. We’re not on Facebook so if its on there then that’s why we didn’t see it. We talked to him several times before we set the date for picking up the wood and he never mentioned a loading fee."

"Stayed at a cabin in Wild Rose this fall and drove to Tom’s for wood. Picked up the “bargain” wood and there was so much I didn’t fit it all in my Sportage. I ended up coming back for more wood and grabbed the premium $25 stack. Both bunches were great! Really nice to have a spot near the area where I can just come on by and grab what I need. I’m booked to stay in my tiny cabin June 2025 and I’ll be back for more wood!"
