"Our initial meeting with Mr. Smail was both educational and successful in determining our present and future goals with our property. He was very knowledgeable and informed us as to types of trees, their values, size, etc. The company and Mr. Smail was very prompt with contracts, payments and any concerns we may have had. This leads us to believe the logging job will progress in the same manner and we would highly suggest Mr. Smail and Springfield Hardwood!"
"The weather caused delays but the task at hand was completed in a timely manner with expertise of the forester that over saw the project(Jeff Lawson) and what we as landowners had agreed to with Jeff. Very pleased with all aspects of the project from the cutting of the timber to the follow up that was completed just recently with the clean up. Thank you."

"Worst possible experience possible. Nearly impossible to get a quote for timber harvest on a property. Had to make 15+ calls to get a quote (given very reluctantly). Garrett came out to see the property after countless calls to both him and even the office reminding him I was waiting for pricing. He then needed to have someone with "additional experience and knowledge" to quote the timber. After several weeks I AGAIN called him for a price. He said he didn't want to call because the quote was so low! I told him I needed the price because we were trying to compare multiple quotes for the timber. Later that night AFTER MONTHS OF ME HAVING TO MAKE CALLS IMPLORING HIM FOR A QUOTE, he said the offer was $8,400 for approximately 70 acres of timber. Not the best timber I would admit, mostly pin oak and maple, but an absolute insult after basically making me beg for a quote. Please do yourself a favor, avoid this company and save yourself the time and aggravation of multiple phone calls and pleading of a quote, only to be insulted with a criminally low offer. I'd give zero stars if it was an option."
