"All they had to do was trim some branches. Red Flag #1: After receiving back a signed contract, they told me they there was a typo in the price and they needed to charge me more. Red Flag #2. They scheduled the work for 1:30p. I showed up to find they had already done the work earlier in the day without me there. Red Flag #3: They had not done the trimming that was contracted, nor did they remove the trimmings they did create. Red Flag #4: I had booked Woodchips specifically because they agreed they would NOT drive on the very wet and soft lawn. They drove their truck on the lawn causing deep tire track trenches. Red Flag #… The damage they caused, which would have been easily avoided had they simply waited for me to be onsite, included 18” deep ruts in the wet lawn where they drove the truck, stripped bark from my cedar trees (now dying) from where they used a winch to rescue their truck from the mud, damage driveway pavement, and puddles of oil / hydraulic fluid. They also left all the trimmings when it was clear in their contract they were to take them. After multiple calls to reach them to complain, they sent 1 guy, the next day, with a truck of rocky dirt to fill the ruts. He did not even bring a wheel barrow. I had to step in and assist with my wheel barrow and shovel to fill the lawn and filter out the large rocks. He did his best and I appreciate his effort, but it was simply too much work for one man. He then had to leave to go get the tree trimming truck. 45 mins later he returned, alone again, finally did the work I contacted them for, and cleaned up. Woodchips then had the balls to charge me full price, despite the damage, work I had to do with their guy to fix their problem, and the major inconvenience of it all. The personnel I interacted with were indeed courteous, but 4 months on, the residual evidence of their presence (damage to pavement, stripped bark from my cedar tree when they got their truck stuck) are too much for me to ignore, a constant reminder of their awful presence, which is why I’m updating this review. All would have been simple an easy had they just waited for the appointed time the they specified. Maybe this job simply got away from them, and I was told the the guy who drove the truck on the grass and left the property in such disarray was fired, but I have no confirmation of that, nor does that really solve the problem. In fact I'd rather he not be fired and learn from the mistake... I will not be using Woodchips again, and neither should you."
