"Over all I really like the dragon fly chimnea that I purchased about 3 months. It has a large 20 inch bowl so you can have a decent size fire in it. I have burned many different types of wood in it (Ash, pine, oak, poplar, birch, maple) and they all seem to burn nicely. I got the cover with it as well and that has already started to fade, but when it sits in direct sunlight, that is to be expected. At some point I will need to order a new one. There are two things that I don't like. First the poker that comes with it is worthless. I mean it is only ten inches! You can't even get a third of the way in when you have a fire going due to the heat. I have already rectified this problem by adding in a 20 inches section of metal. Second, I constantly get smoke out of the front opening unless I have a large fire in there and it is really hot (both of which are not recommend in the manual). I had a much smaller cast iron chimnea and didn't have this issue, but with this one I do. It is as if the chimney isn't quite big enough and/or the top needs to be a bit more elongated to allow the smoke/flame/heat to rise more. I have learned to accept it, but it is a bit frustrating. This is the only reason it lost a star. Overall I am happy with it and hope to get many more years of fires with it."
"Boy, do we love this chiminea. We have the prairie cast aluminum model. It was packed very well; kind of like a box within a box so nothing could get damaged. We've had to many fires and. they've been wonderful. Full sized logs fit well and it's very easy to clean. The neck and smoke remind me of a locomotive. Fabulous product and delivery!"
