Range Wood

About Range Wood
Range Wood supplies mixed hardwood firewood to Mountain Iron and surrounding areas. Whether you're heating a cabin through Minnesota winters or stocking up for regular fireplace use, hardwoods deliver reliable heat output—oak typically produces 24–28 million BTU per cord, while hickory reaches 27–30 million BTU per cord, making them smart choices for consistent warmth.
The company offers firewood delivery, eliminating the need to source and haul wood yourself. A full cord measures 128 cubic feet, though many homeowners find half-cord or quarter-cord quantities work better for seasonal use or testing a supplier's quality before committing to larger orders.
When ordering firewood in Mountain Iron, ask about moisture content—wood should be seasoned to around 20% moisture or lower for clean burning and efficient heat. Wet or green wood creates excessive creosote buildup in chimneys and wastes energy on evaporation rather than heating. Range Wood's 4.8-star rating across 16 reviews reflects consistent delivery performance and product quality that local customers rely on.
Delivery logistics matter: confirm whether the supplier will stack wood at your location or if you'll handle stacking yourself. Some prefer unloaded delivery to control placement; others value the convenience of having cords stacked and ready to burn. Typical delivery windows in the area run 1–2 weeks depending on season and order size.
For pricing, Minnesota hardwood firewood typically ranges $200–$350 per cord depending on wood type, seasoning, and delivery distance. Contact Range Wood at (218) 780-7680 to discuss your heating needs, confirm current availability, and get a delivery quote for your Mountain Iron location.

"I ordered a mounded trailer load of red oak and maple. I have ordered wood from several providers in the area and this was by far the best total experience. Easy to interact with and they delivered on schedule. The wood was very clean with minimal amounts of punky pieces, no rogue pieces of pine or junk wood, and a good variety of split sizes for start-ups and long burns. The only drawback was the amount of wood received. I expected just below 2 cords and when stacked neatly, only came out to just over 1.5 cords. I paid $530 for the load delivered."
"Super nice guy, good to communicate with AND he was very accommodating our quite late arrival time. The wood is excellent, categorized by species (wow!) And the prices are way better than buying the little plastic wrapped bundles where you don't know what you get. AND, I've bought wood that was not fully seasoned and slow to burn- this has that 'clink' when 2 pieces hit and sounds very nice and dry. I highly recommend if you really like fires and are headed to a local campground. Wood in MN needs to stay in the county it was harvested in."
"They are great. Ordering my second load today."
"Excellent service. Cut to length. Delivered & dropped thru tight spaces. On time. Reasonably priced. Tight packed loads. Need wood? Call Range Wood."
